The project is to design a network requiring the following:
· Set up the physical layout of the network using the diagram and information provided
· Correctly configure single-area OSPF – control the DR selection process
· Correctly configure VLANs and 802.1q trunking
· Correctly configure VTP
· Control the spanning tree root bridge selection process
· Correctly configure Frame-Relay
· Correctly configure DHCP
· Correctly configure NAT
· Create and apply access control lists on the appropriate routers and interfaces
· Correctly configure CHAP authentication
· Correctly configure ISDN
· Correctly configure VLAN-8 for network management
Miami, Huston and Orlando routers do not run any routing since they are stub networks.
The core routers at HQ use static routes to all stub networks to maximize data throughput.
Each stub network runs DHCP servers for their own location.
All network devices must be managed through telnet from HQ.
All switches use VLAN-8 as their management network.
HQ is using NAT translation with overload to reach the Internet. The assigned public address space for the company is 200.1.___.8 /28
HQ administratively controls the OSPF DR selection process, and forces the HQ-srv router to be the DR for OSPF Area-0.
Huston location uses VTP to aide network management and Huston-SW-1 must be configured as the server. The remaining switches are clients.
Huston location is also concerned with a suboptimal spanning tree topology. Make sure you configure Huston-SW-1 switch as the root of spanning tree topology.
The network manager is concerned about people accessing the servers by using Telnet. Access list(s) must be employed to stop the users; however, the users must be able to Telnet to any other location. The network manager uses the Telnet-srv on HQ’s server network to manage the network. He must be able to connect to any of the devices with Telnet to manage the system.
Since the ISDN network is a dialup system, the connection must be authenticated between Miami and HQ-ISDN routers by CHAP one-way authentication. HQ-ISDN must authenticate the connection with Miami.
