World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Developed in collaboration with: EDC Center for Media & Community |
The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) is an international summit organized by the United Nations for tackling the digital divide and other ICT issues. The first phase of the summit took place in Geneva in December 2003; the second phase will be in Tunis in November 2005. WSIS is an important opportunity for civil society to come together with government policymakers, international donors and the private sector to identify strategies for bridging the digital divide. This community has been set up to give DDN members a place where they can discuss WSIS as well as share WSIS news and resources.
