About Me:
Hi everyone! I have just joined TakingITGlobal as their Online Community Partnerships Coordinator. I am looking forward to working with everyone here at TIG and exploring the web site!

I am Canadian by birth (although I have two very proud Scottish by birth parents) and have lived in various parts of Canada. I also have been lucky enough to live abroad in a few different cities-Istanbul, Dubai, Malvern (England). Each one of these places is unique and special to me in different ways, but I would have to say that Istanbul has been my favorite city so far to live in abroad. My friends sometimes think I should work for the Turkish Tourism Board as I truly believe that everyone should visit Turkey! I also have travelled to a wide variety of different places, but my favorite trip would have to be to Petra in Jordan. It really is a spectacular place to go. My dream vacation is to go to Morocco one day.

After living overseas for many years I returned to Canada to go to McGill university in Montreal. There I completed a BA in Anthropology and although I enjoyed it and furthered my knowledge on different cultures I have chosen to switch paths slightly. Recently I have completed various certificates in PR and Marketing at Concordia and am currently taking more marketing courses at University of Toronto.

There are many things that I am passionate about in life, but one of the issues that interests me the most is creating a world where we all communicate and learn from one another. "Open Doors Open Minds" is a motto I saw in Dubai and I think that is a great philosophy to have. Other issues that I like to keep up on are women's rights, nutrition, and progress in stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS.

In my spare time you will find me either at the Pilates studio or running. I also like to discover new places to eat, so if anyone has any suggestions let me know! Reading is also another great passion of mine and I love nothing more than to find new books!
